Manta ray

The manta ray (man-tah-ray) is the largest of rays.  the largest known specimen is more than 7.6 meters (23 ft) across, with a weight of  2,300 kilograms (5,100 lb).  It ranges throughout the tropical waters of the world, typically around coral reefs. They have the largest brainto body ratio of the sharks and rays.Mantas have a variety of common names, including Atlantic manta,Pacific manta, devil fish, and just manta.Recent studies have suggested that whatever is called manta ray are at least 2 different species, one larger migrates and another smaller that does not.Manta rays may have evolved from bottom- feeders, and they adapted to be open ocean filter feeders. The feeding strategy allowed them to grow larger than other ray species.
